RootsTech 2023 Seminar on WWII Remembrance

RootsTech is the most popular family history conference in the world. For the second year in a row participants can learn about the grass roots project to research and write stories about all 421,000 US WWII fallen. (See last year's presentation here.)

EVENT INFORMATION

Title: Volunteers Writing the Stories of All 421,000 US WWII Fallen

Description: Volunteers from all 50 states and more than a dozen other countries have embraced a goal of writing stories of everyone of the 421,000 US WWII fallen. We have those with a great interest in genealogy, those who are veterans, and those who are related to those who served in WWII. We also have teachers involving students. Anyone with interest in this subject can participate.

This presentation gives examples of how this effort is turning every cemetery and memorial into an engaging digital experience. A free smartphone app allows anyone to enter the name of any of the WWII fallen at any gravesite or memorial and read his/her story right there.

Learn how to find 1940's era documents to research and write stories of those who served in WWII.

This session will be live streamed on rootstech.org. Click here to join. Type: Live Webinar
